Abortion rights activists will take to the streets Saturday to rally and march in front of the Redwood City Public Library, according to a news release by activist group Raging Grannies

The event, called Roe for Change, takes place two days before the California deadline to register to vote either online or in person. The rally begins at noon and will be followed by a march through downtown beginning at 1:30 p.m.

The lead organizer of the event is Lauren Lin, a 16-year-old student at Castilleja — which is an all-girls high school located in the San Francisco Bay Area. Lin says that the upcoming mid-term elections are extremely crucial because the fundamental reproductive rights of women are on the line.

Redwood City Giselle Hale will address the crowd. Other speakers at the event will include advocates for abortion rights, as well as youth poets in the Bay Area.
