Good morning, Redwood City!
Transit-oriented
Redwood City’s new Transit District is shaping up. On Tuesday, the Planning Commission voted in favor of the latest amendments and environmental impact report, which will go to the city council for a final vote in November.
The plan would dedicate over an acre of land to build a renovated train station, new housing and job opportunities, and improved pedestrian and bike-friendly routes through the downtown area and surrounding neighborhoods. Commissioners and members of the public alike expressed resounding support for the plan.
There was some question about whether certain streets, like Franklin, might be better as bike boulevards, with no vehicular traffic allowed. What do you think?
Newsletter news
Reminder: Starting in November, we’ll be sending out our daily newsletter at 3 p.m. instead of 10 a.m. This means the day’s latest headlines will land in your inbox even sooner, and we won’t clog your inbox first thing in the morning. Stay tuned…
Don’t forget to stop by the Kiwanis Farmers Market tomorrow from 8-12. There will be a costume contest, a scavenger and much more (details below). We’d love to see you there!

Have a wonderful Friday.
Your reporter,
Leah
