Early election results released after the polls closed Tuesday evening show two school bonds—Redwood City Elementary School District’s Measure S and Sequoia Union High School District's Measure W—on track to pass. Both require 55% approval.
As of 10 a.m, Nov. 9, Measure S is passing, but just barely at 56.57%. Measure S "no" votes are at 43%. Measure W has roughly 61% "yes" votes and "no" 39%.
If passed, Measure S, a $298 million bond, would authorize the district to issue $298 million in bonds to repair and upgrade classrooms, labs, and infrastructure and make safety improvements at schools across the district.
Likewise, if passed, Measure W would authorize SUHSD to issue $591 million in school bonds to repair classrooms.
