Update: The checkpoint will be located at El Camino Real just south of Fifth Avenue between 7 p.m. and 1 a.m.

The Redwood City Area Office of the California Highway Patrol will conduct a sobriety checkpoint on Friday, according to a release by the agency.
Patrol officers will be staffing the checkpoint between 7:00 p.m. to 1:00 a.m. looking for drivers who may be impaired by alcohol and/or drugs, according to the release.
According to a spokesperson, the checkpoint could become a "roving DUI," where instead of officers remaining in one position as per usual, officers will be driving around and on the lookout searching for impaired drivers. But that depends entirely on weather conditions, such as heavy rain, the spokesperson said.
The department asks the public to designate a driver or arrange transportation to ensure they reach their destination safely.
