Two small earthquakes struck the San Mateo County peninsula late Thursday evening.
The first one was a 2.6 magnitude quake, centered near Woodside. The second quake was a 2.9 magnitude quake centered near Portola Valley.
Both quakes struck the area between 11:05 and 11:20 p.m.
