A Redwood City man on Wednesday pleaded not guilty to four counts of lewd acts with a child after prosecutors said he engaged in "multiple acts of molestation" during his time as tutor of a child.
Aldo Ricardo Sepulveda Perez, 35, is accused of "hugging, touching and showing sex films and use of sex toys" over the course of 15 months as he tutored a child who was 11 and 12 years old at the time, according to San Mateo County District Attorney Stephen Wagstaffe.
Sepulveda Perez appeared in court Wednesday for his arraignment and was denied bail. His preliminary hearing was set to March 21.
Police on Monday arrested Sepulveda Perez following an investigation into reports of someone soliciting children for lewd purposes.
The investigation resulted in the seizure of electronic items from Perez's home in the 200 block of First Avenue in unincorporated Redwood City and his workplace in the 1700 block of East Bayshore Road, according to the Redwood City Police Department.
Police said there may be more victims and urge anyone with information about Sepulveda Perez to contact Sgt. Mark Alifano at (650) 780-7673.
