Learn to prune trees like a pro at an upcoming Redwood City workshop.

On March 25, CityTrees will hold its annual Tree Pruning Workshop from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

The one-hour workshop will consist of classroom training on tree care and maintenance, followed by outdoor pruning practice. Programming will focus on younger trees with topics including basic tree biology, the reasons for pruning, the priorities of street tree maintenance and safe work practices.

Participants will walk to a nearby outdoor location for training in pruning techniques. Both amateur and professional pruners are welcome to attend. The workshop prepares attendees to prune their own trees and possibly volunteer at pruning events for CityTrees.

Anyone interested in attending will need to register in advance. The event free of charge, however a suggested donation of $20 is requested to help CityTrees, which is a nonprofit organization, with its ongoing mission to plant and care for trees in Redwood City.

The event will take place at the downtown Redwood City Library at 1044 Middlefield Rd. For more information, click here
