The Redwood City Police Department is investigating eight catalytic converter thefts it said took place across multiple locations across the city.
Authorities believe the eight thefts occurred on March 21 by the same group of suspects.
A resident's private security video captured one of the thefts and shows three individuals, one of them holding what appears to be an assault weapon, according to police.
The suspects involved in the March 21 incidents are described as follows:
- Suspect #1: Man wearing a Bape brand shark zip-up sweater, light-colored pants, and dark-colored shoes
- Suspect #2: Man wearing a light-colored hoodie and allegedly armed with an assault weapon
- Suspect #3: Man wearing a dark-colored zip-up hoodie and dark-colored pants
The suspect vehicle is a dark-colored 2010 or later model Audi with stock, 5-spoke colored wheels.
Anyone with information about these suspects or who may have access to additional video evidence is encouraged to contact Detective Sergeant Mark Alifano at 650-780-7673. To provide tips on any Redwood City cases, call the Tip Line at 650-780-7110.
