Are you are looking for a local, family friendly activities for Earth Day? Here's some suggestions for ways to celebrate around the 650. 

Some other events you should know about: 

A Bayside cleanup at Cooley Landing Park in East Palo Alto. 

A “March and Rally for Our Earth” on Friday, April 22 from 4 to 6 p.m. at King Plaza, in front of Palo Alto. The event is hosted by local students. Friends, families and community members are welcome to join in on the action. 

A free tour of the Historic Union Cemetery. There will be a one hour stroll around the 1859-era cemetery, offering information about Redwood City history and it’s original settlers. Happening 10 am Saturday April 22.

The local chapter of the CA Native Plant Society (covering San Mateo & Santa Clara counties) will hold its Wildflower Show on Saturday at West Valley College.

Meet San Mateo County community members down in Saratoga for a great way to learn about our local wildflowers (and plants, lichens, and more).


If you're looking for a place to get outside, here are the best views in the Peninsula and how to see them. 

Mitchell Park Library in Palo Alto welcomes singer-writer Nellie McKay for a performance this Sunday, April 23 at 7 p.m.
