Get ready to bust out your lederhosen next month, as Downtown Redwood City will be putting on its annual Oktoberfest event on Sept. 20-24.
This year's Oktoberfest Downtown Redwood City, which will take place in a massive 2,000-foot tent at Courthouse Square, will once again offer up five days worth of German-style food and beverages, live entertainment, activities and more.
In keeping with the traditional Munich festival that it is based on, Redwood City's Oktoberfest event will be serving up a number of refreshing brews, held in customary steins.
Guests will have the opportunity to pair up their ice-cold beers (and other beverages) with a number of German eats, including bratwursts and pretzels.
The festival will feature performances from several traditional German- and Austrian-inspired music and dance groups, including Golden Gate Bavarian Club, Alpine Sound Band, Deutscher Musikverein and more.
Other interactive entertainment planned for the event includes dance and yodeling contests, stein holding competitions, hand gesture skits, as well as many opportunities to take part in the internationally-renowned chicken dance.
Tickets for the event range from $10 to $27 (a commemorative stein and drink ticket are included).
VIP passes are also available; benefits include multiple drink tickets, reserved tables, etc.
Tickets for the Oktoberfest festival can be purchased either at the door or online at the Redwood City website.
