Getting your Trinity Audio player ready...

Good morning, Redwood City!

City council next week will discuss an automated license plate reader policy and whether the city should purchase 25 readers from a company called Flock for a three-year agreement (Sept. 2023-Sept. 2026). The city currently doesn't own any ALPRs, but we get our data from other jurisdictions. Be sure to catch the meeting on Monday. Here's the agenda.

Attorney General Rob Bonta led a virtual press conference this morning in partnership with six district attorneys, including San Mateo County District Attorney Stephen Wagstaffe, where Bonta announced a $49 million settlement with Kaiser for their illegal disposal of medical waste. The health giant is said to have illegally disposed of protected health information. We'll have more on that story later.

Special thanks to Georgina LaBerge for their photo of the tree poppies at Gamble Gardens in Palo Alto. If you have an image you want to share, email us at editor@rwcpulse.com.
