Two men were arrested after a shooting at a Denny's parking lot in Redwood City, police said in a statement on Thursday evening.
The incident, which occurred on July 8 around 2:01 a.m. at the Denny's on 1201 Broadway, was preceded by an altercation inside the restaurant. The men allegedly fired approximately 15 rounds of 9 mm at three people and their car. No one appeared to have been struck, police said.
Redwood City Police Department’s Investigations Division extensively sought to identify the alleged shooters. Police arrested Sergio MontanoZaragoza, 33, of Redwood City, on Aug. 25. They seized a loaded 9 mm handgun and cocaine packaged for sale after serving a search warrant at his residence.
MontanoZaragoza was booked into the San Mateo County jail on three counts of attempted murder, assault with a deadly weapon, possessing cocaine for sale and other charges, police said.
On Sept. 6, detectives obtained an arrest warrant for his alleged accomplice, Omar SaavedraReynaga, 22, also of Redwood City. He was booked for being an accessory to the crime.
