A 68-year-old man has been arrested by Redwood City police for a road-rage incident allegedly involving a large kitchen knife, the department said.
While driving in June, the man allegedly cut off the victim and began yelling obscenities. The man and the victim then exited their cars. The man charged at the victim while holding a large kitchen knife, police said.
Investigators used the man's license plate registration information to identify him as a suspect. Officers attempted to locate him in East Palo Alto and elsewhere, but they were unsuccessful, they said.
On Sept. 20, police found the man during a separate call for service in the 1000 block of Mills Way in Redwood City. A patrol officer recognized him from the June road rage incident and arrested him. He was booked into the San Mateo County Jail for assault with a deadly weapon, a felony, police said.
