Morning, Redwood City,
U.S. Sen. Dianne Feinstein, a pioneering figure in American politics, has passed away at 90. As the longest-standing female senator and San Francisco's first woman mayor, her influential career marked significant milestones, including the 1994 federal assault weapons ban, the Amber Alert system, and pivotal legislation following revelations about CIA interrogation practices. Her impactful legacy will be remembered for generations to come.
We are following this story today, so come back to the site later, and we'll have more for you.
In other news, some of you may have received a notice in the mail about the traffic calming project at Roosevelt and McGarvey. The project was approved back in 2020. The roundabout is expected to be completed in December, so the entire intersection will be shut down from Nov. 27 to Dec. 8 to allow for construction. Construction hours are estimated from 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday through Friday. In January, the construction crew plans come back to paint some signage and stripes and add curb extensions.
If you're headed to the Moonlight Run tonight, come say hi! I'll be at the HQ booth.
