An 18-year-old Redwood City man has been arrested after allegedly stabbing an elderly man in the chest behind the Redwood City Main Library, according to a statement from the Redwood City Police Department.

The stabbing occurred on Sept. 20, and the suspected was arrested on Oct. 6 just after midnight at Courthouse Square. 

He was taken into custody and is currently being held at the San Mateo County Jail on charges of felony assault with a deadly weapon.

The suspect has been linked to a strong-armed robbery involving a juvenile victim on Sept. 30 near the Century Theatres in downtown Redwood City, resulting in an additional felony robbery charge.
