A man was pistol-whipped and robbed at the Food Stop Market on Sunday afternoon, the Redwood City Police Department said in a statement on Monday.

The incident took place around 2:15 p.m. on Oct. 8 at the 1300 block of Arguello when two masked individuals approached a lone male at the market. One of them allegedly struck the victim twice in the head using a pistol, according to police. The victim reported minor injuries from the incident and declined additional medical attention.

Police said the suspects then took the victim's gold chain and bracelet. Following the incident, the two individuals reportedly joined a third person in a gray Nissan Altima with Arizona license plates, fleeing West on Whipple Avenue.

The suspects were described as wearing a gray hoodie and carrying a silver handgun, while the other wore a black hoodie with a black handgun.
