A bicyclist who was hit by a motorist in Redwood City on Friday evening has died from injuries sustained in the collision, authorities said.

The crash occurred around 6:34 p.m. on Aug. 16, when Redwood City police were dispatched to a traffic incident involving a vehicle and a bicyclist at the corner of Arch Street and Broadway.

When officers arrived, they found the bicyclist unconscious. Paramedics from the Redwood City Fire Department and AMR responded and transported the cyclist to Stanford Hospital, where the person later died.

The driver remained at the scene and cooperated with investigators.

Police said there were no indications of drug or alcohol impairment. The cause of the collision is still under investigation.
