Update: At 11:24 a.m. traffic reopened.

The Caltrain railroad crossing arms at Encinal Avenue, Oak Grove Avenue and Ravenswood Avenue in Menlo Park are down Monday morning, according to an advisory from the Menlo Park Police Department. The crossings are closed while Caltrain staff work to fix the crossing arms.

According to Dan Lieberman, a public affairs specialist at Caltrain, the crossing arm issues are due to a train that broke down on the tracks earlier this morning.

“Train #109 experienced an engine failure this morning while occupying the Oak Grove crossing, which is triggering the gates at the other crossings,” said Lieberman.

Caltrain is advising drivers to use alternate routes to get to their destinations.
