Just two days after a bicyclist was killed in Woodside, another cyclist was injured Sunday afternoon when a motorist hit him at Canada and Edgewood roads near Filoli.

The crash happened just around 11:21 a.m. on Aug. 31, according to the California Highway Patrol.

CHP Officer Jovita Ojeda said a Toyota Sedan hit a cyclist, who was then transported to Stanford Hospital for a complaint of pain. No arrests were pain, and the incident was not considered a “DUI crash.”

The Pulse has reached out to the California Highway Patrol for comment, as it is the agency that has jurisdiction over the case.

Friday’s fatal crash occurred at the intersection of highways 35 and 84 — often called “four corners” — in Woodside, where a bicyclist was struck by a pickup truck. The cyclist was airlifted to Stanford Medical Center in critical condition and later died Saturday, according to the sheriff’s office.

“This is a heartbreaking reminder that every life on our roads is precious. We must all share the road with vigilance, respect, and care – for cyclists, pedestrians and drivers alike,” Sheriff Christina Corpus said in a statement.

The Sheriff’s Office said its Major Accident Investigation Team is investigating the Woodside crash and that the driver remained at the scene and is cooperating.

Anyone with information about Friday’s incident can call the San Mateo County Sheriff’s Office at 650-363-4911.
