South Bay Safety Day, a free boating safety event, will be held Saturday, Feb. 7, at the Sequoia Yacht Club in Redwood City.
The event is open to all users of local waterways. In the morning, the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary will offer voluntary vessel safety inspections at Redwood City Marina and Westpoint Marina, reviewing boats and safety equipment and providing guidance.
The afternoon program includes three presentations on risk management, safe navigation in San Francisco Bay and safety equipment for bay sailors. The event will conclude with refreshments at the yacht club. Registration is requested at sequoiayc.com/calendar.
