Redwood City Council formally opposes rent control measure
Redwood City officials formally opposed a rent control and expanded tenant protection ordinance backed by more than 7,000 Redwood City petition signatures. The proposal will be the only local ballot measure in November.
Speed limit drops to 15 mph in front of Woodside Elementary School
Drivers on Woodside Road will have to slow down to 15 mph in front of Woodside Elementary School. As of Aug. 5, a new speed limit that has been in the works for years by the town’s Circulation Committee, took effect.

Obsolete appliances of the past — like rotary telephone dials and hand-crank electric generators — have largely disappeared from everyday life, and may now seem dated and unremarkable for our time. But in “Technostalgia,” an exhibition on view at the Museum of American Heritage, these technologies are given new life as whimsical kinetic sculptures that viewers can touch and “use” directly.
