August 28, 1980 – April 8, 2022
Audel Reza Lashgari was the son of Iraj Roger Lashgari and Donna Sue Lashgari. Born on August 28, 1980 in Stanford, CA, Audie grew up in Redwood City.
As a young man, Audie was a committed Boy Scout, ultimately earning the esteemed title of Eagle Scout. Graduating from Junipero Serra High School in 1999, Audel was a member of the water polo and wrestling teams. Audie spent his first year of college at the University of Arizona before returning back to the Bay Area, where he attended San Jose State University. Audie received his undergraduate degree in communication and excelled on the Spartan’s debate team. He would go to receive his MBA from Notre Dame de Namur in Belmont, CA before pursuing his professional career with the California Department of Transportation (Caltrans).
Audie treasured the time he spent with all his nieces and nephews, routinely spending his weekend mornings cheering on Jessica, Wyatt, Hunter, and Reese at their various sporting events, and playing with Logan and Alexander on the side lines. Audie’s extended family of aunts, uncles, and cousins too numerous to mention each held a special place in his heart, as his love and devotion to his family simply knew no limits. He was a kind and gentle person, full of love and compassion that extended to everyone he encountered.
Away from home, Audie’s great sense of humor, compassionate spirit and genuine love for others fostered lifelong friendships with his school classmates, among those in his faith community at St. Pius Church, and with his colleagues at Caltrans.
Audel passed on Friday, April 8, 2022, at his home in Hayward, CA. He is preceded in death by his beloved father, Iraj Lashgari, and is survived by his mother Donna Lashgari, his two siblings Arya Lashgari (Liz) and Kimya Hoffmann (Peter). Audie’s family and friends are welcome to join together for a celebration of his life at Shalizaar Restaurant in Belmont, on Thursday, April 14, 2022 beginning at 1pm.
