March 13 1923 – December 20 2022
Trinidad “Trinie” Patricia Sanchez O’Ran born March 13, 1923, left this realm peacefully, aged 99, on December 20, 2022.
Trinie was the oldest daughter of Spanish immigrant parents, Miguel and Carmen Sanchez. She was a life long resident of Redwood City having first lived on the street named in honor of her father, Sanchez Way. She was a graduate of Sequoia High School.
During World War II she worked in the defense industry at Dalmo Victor. She worked at many different jobs but most notably for many years as a waitress at the Reno Club in Palo Alto.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Sterling O’Ran, Jr., her brother, Tony Sanchez, sisters Carmelita Mora and MaryLou Wilson, Son-in-Law Richard Mello, and her grandson Peter O’Ran. She is survived by her son Sterling “Randy” O’Ran III, daughter Kathy Mello, grandchildren Kelly Cocco, Jason Cocco (Raquel), Greg Mello, (Kimberly), Gina Fernández (Andrew) and Sean O’Ran (Stacie Lewis). Also, she cherished her eight great grandchildren and many cousins, nieces and nephews. Among her many friends she left behind her beloved sister-in-law Adele Sanchez and longtime friend Helen Hewitt.
Trinie was known for her bigger than life, fun loving personality. Family and friends gravitated toward her at every occasion to experience her gregarious, outgoing, mischievous and naughty personality. Her passing will leave a great void in the lives of many which may hopefully be tempered by the many joyful memories she left behind.
A mass and memorial is scheduled for 10:30 at Saint Pius Church in Redwood City with a reception and memorial to follow at the Fox Theater. The family requests that in lieu of flowers donations be made in her name to your favorite charity.
