Our mother, Maria Antonia Peruzzi, passed away peacefully on August 3, 2023, at the age of 96.
She was born in Crespano del Grappa, Italy, on April 3, 1927. Maria is survived by her children Lina Peruzzi and John Peruzzi, and her granddaughter Julia Peruzzi in California and numerous cousins in Italy. She will be interred with her husband Louis Peruzzi, who preceded her in death, at Gate of Heaven, Los Altos, California.
Maria will always be remembered as someone who loved life. She was always up for an adventure. She loved living in California but her heart was always in the town she was born in, Crespano del Grappa. For 30 years she traveled back and forth between Italy and California. She enjoyed visiting family, sightseeing, eating great food, and of course, shopping. When she was young, she had her own business, where she made and sold sweaters.
She brought her knitting machine to California when she married Louis, and continued to make sweaters for the family. She was a remarkable seamstress, who could also knit and crochet. She will always be remembered as a woman who enjoyed her life to the fullest.
