The Peninsula Humane Society & SPCA’s Pet of the Week is Derby.
Don’t let 2025 fly by without considering adopting a new pet pigeon! Pigeons make great pets, as they are intelligent, can be easily trained, are relatively quiet, and can form strong bonds with their owners. Derby is a gentle senior pigeon looking for a comfy and quiet forever home to spend his remaining years peacefully. He is a bit shy but easy to handle and would do well with a family that has some experience with older birds and their care. Be prepared to fall in love when you meet him! Added bonus: Derby is part of our “Love a Dove” promotion, so adoption fees are currently waived.
