On Thursday evening, Redwood City police arrested three teens after shots were fired into an apartment building in the 1000 block of Adams Street, according to a police report.
A 19-year-old Redwood City resident was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and conspiring to commit a crime, along with two minors were arrested on “similar charges,” as part of the same operation, according to police.
While shell casings located at the scene, the Redwood City Police Department confirmed that no one was injured.
Witnesses said that prior to the gunfire, several individuals wearing masks walked up to a nearby apartment and banged on the door just before 9 p.m. on Feb. 12, a police report stated. When the door was not opened, they fired multiple rounds into the building and fled by car.
When officers arrived at the apartment complex, they found a car parked in the driveway with a gunshot hole through its rear window. Officers observed several bullet strikes to the exterior of a nearby apartment building, a police press release stated.
After a thorough search of all apartments within the complex, officers confirmed that no residents were injured.
After receiving a vehicle description, police queried Flock Safety ALPR cameras to better identify the car, which a San Mateo County Sheriff’s deputy discovered traveling on 5th Avenue.
The car was occupied by two females and three males. The three males were positively identified as shooting suspects, and a firearm was recovered, police reported.
The 19-year-old driver, Isaac Almanzavillagomez, was arrested and booked into the San Mateo County Maguire Correctional Facility. The other two suspects, both 16-year-old males, were placed under arrest and released to the San Mateo County Youth Correctional Center.
