Redwood City is inviting residents to attend the annual State of the City on Monday, March 23, where it will outline a strategic plan for the upcoming year.

Titled “Grounded in History. Shaping the Future,” the city event will guide attendees through a series of stories rooted in places around Redwood City. City officials will highlight the connection of Redwood City’s history to current programs and future goals, in an attempt to show the city’s progress and what lies ahead, according to the city.

In 2025, the goals Redwood City officials outlined in the State of the City address focused on housing, road safety, economic vitality and climate resilience. In 2024, housing, economy and community spaces took priority.

Ahead of the council meeting, which begins at 6 p.m., the city will provide an opportunity for neighbors to get to know one another and to connect with city staff. Light refreshments will be provided starting at 5:30 p.m. Those interested in attending in person can join at the Council Chambers at 1017 Middlefield Road, or online via Zoom with the Meeting ID: 994 8182 5639.

Former State of the City presentations, as well as more information about the upcoming event, are available on the city’s website.
