Whether your ideal New Year’s Eve celebration is a family-friendly affair that doesn’t interfere with your plans to be asleep after the ball drops in New York City, a multicourse meal with bubbly or a rousing party where you can dance the night away, the Peninsula has you covered. Noon Year’s Eve in Menlo Park
The Menlo Park Library hosts a party for families, with a puppet show by Puppet Art Theater, ice cream cups, and balloons. The event concludes with a countdown to noon.

Palo Alto’s Rinconda Library hosts a celebration for young families who want to ring in 2025 before midnight. The event features dancing and music, light refreshments, craft tables and a countdown to noon, complete with a bubble “drop.” Party clothes encouraged.

Noon Year’s Storytime at East Palo Alto Library
The East Palo Alto Library hosts a morning of songs, stories and craft activities leading up to a countdown at noon, with special guest Pete the Cat.

A morning of entertainment, featuring dancing with Lori & RJ and performances by 9-year-old YouTuber Bella, Peninsula Ballet Theatre, the Puppet Company lead up to a balloon drop at noon, followed by more entertainment with Germar the Magician and Westlake School for the Performing Arts. The California Honeydrops
The Oakland-based retro-soul band plays in the new year at The Guild Theatre. The show is featured as part of the Doing Good at The Guild Series and will raise funds for Conscious Alliance, a nonprofit hunger relief organization.

The Sun Kings
Beatles tribute band The Sun Kings present their annual New Year’s Eve party, with party favors and midnight toast.

International Masquerade
Five different international-themed rooms feature five live bands and 10 DJs playing music from salsa and bachata to reggaeton, Top 40, pop and more, with musical guests that include Sonora Dinamita, Julio Bravo y su Orquesta, Drive the Band, DJ Bachatero and others. The party also offers dancers and live carnival performances with Amor Do Samba entertainment, plus drummers and a balloon drop at midnight.

New Year’s Eve Contra Dance
Palo Alto Contra Dance hosts an evening of contra dancing (similar to line dancing) with Susan Petrick calling to live music by fiddler Corwin Zekley and pianist Grace Fellows. Toast at midnight.

Dance at Cubberley Ballroom

New Year’s Eve Sound Bath
Reflect on the experiences of 2024 and on what you want to create in 2025 in a guided ritual that uses the power of sound to release the past and focus on intentions for the future.
