Jeniffer B. Alcantara has been appointed court executive officer of San Mateo County Superior Court, succeeding Chad Peace, according to an Oct. 12 court announcement.
Alcantara has 25 years of experience in California trial court administration. She began her career with the San Mateo court in 2001 and later spent more than a decade with San Francisco Superior Court as a staff attorney and alternative dispute resolution administrator.
She returned to San Mateo in 2018 and has held several leadership roles, including deputy court executive officer and interim court executive officer. Her appointment took effect Oct. 12.
Court staff confirmed Peace resigned and said it started recruitment for a new executive on April 21. It declined to comment when asked when Peace resigned and why.
It denied a Judicial Administrative Records request from this news organization for his resignation letter citing privacy and said Peace did not sign an employment agreement.
