Menlo Park Police Department officers arrested a man who was armed with an assault rifle and wearing a bulletproof vest Thursday afternoon.
Officers received the call for a suspicious man around O’Brien Drive and Kavanaugh Drive at about 1:50 p.m., a police department release states. Police then performed a “high risk stop” to take the suspect into custody for questioning and evaluation.
“This is an ongoing investigation,” the release states.
A spokesperson for the Menlo Park police did not immediately return a request for comment on the status of the investigation.
