A 57-year-old man was arrested on Sunday night after police found a woman inside their shared home with multiple stab wounds and unresponsive following the man’s call to their dispatch, according to a news release from the Redwood City Police Department.

Redwood City police officers arrived at the scene of the 900 block of 7th Avenue at around 10:45 p.m. on Dec. 8 after Juan Antonio Garcia called police and reportedly told them that he “just stabbed the victim” at their residence, according to police. As police entered the home, they found the woman, who has yet to be identified, with multiple stab wounds and unresponsive.

Emergency personnel attempted medical care, but the woman was pronounced dead at the scene.

Menlo Park police and San Mateo County sheriff’s personnel responded to help manage a large group of witnesses inside the home.

Antonio Garcia was detained without incident. He is being booked into the Maguire Correctional Facility on a charge of homicide and other felony charges.

Anyone with additional information regarding this incident is encouraged to contact Detective Vickie Jaimez at (650) 780-7697.
