A woman who was walking on Bay Road in Redwood City was sexually assaulted and robbed early Sunday morning, the San Mateo County Sheriff''s Office said in a press release.

The woman was walking home from downtown Redwood City on the 2300 block of Bay Road at 2 a.m. when a man approached with his penis exposed. He attempted to convince the woman to go home with him. She declined, attempted to walk away and called a friend on her cell phone.

While she was talking to her friend, the man caught up to her, grabbed her vagina and took her cell phone.

The man is described as a Hispanic male in his 20s, approximately 5-feet, six-inches tall. He was wearing a gray shirt and blue jeans. He had a "fade" haircut and spoke in English without an accent.
