Getting your Trinity Audio player ready...

Good morning, Redwood City!

Benefit jam

Want to listen to good music for a good cause? This Saturday, support the Cystic Fibrosis Research Inc. at a free outdoor show featuring live reggae, blues, classic rock. Stop by Freewheel Brewing Company between 3-9 p.m. A bit of background from the organizers:

In 1993, Palo Alto drummer Gary Masching was talking to a neighbor. He found out the neighbor’s son had cystic fibrosis. Wanting to help, he called a bunch of his musician friends and put together a party with several live bands, margaritas, and munchies. Gary built a big wooden box with a slot to receive donations…Gary repeated the process every year for over two decades, raising in total over $50,000.

Soccer suspension

We were really sad to hear that the new, local soccer team has announced that it will suspend its season due to financial woes. Read the low-down, so far, on that decision here (and read up on Bay Cities FC's inaugural season here). More on that to come.

Happy Thursday!

Leah
