Good morning, Redwood City!
It's official. Redwood City's housing element is the first city in San Mateo County to get state approval on its eight-year housing strategy. That puts the city significantly ahead of neighboring cities and towns. You might remember that Redwood City was also the first to submit its housing element last year. By doing so, it was able to obtain feedback from the state early enough to send a second draft after its first was rejected. It's not perfect, but it's an improvement, according to housing experts.
We'll have more on that later.
