My name is Avery Luke, and I'm a reporter here at the Pulse. We've been busy this week covering local stories that matter to you. Let's see what's making news in Redwood City: 

Redwood City students organized a Model UN Conference at Sequoia High School with over 250 students. 

A public art installation at Courthouse Square sheds light on the experiences of undocumented immigrants in modern-day America. 

Police cited a Palo Alto High School student last week after receiving information that she may have brought a gun to school two months prior. The 15-year-old student allegedly showed the weapon to a student in the school bathroom and posted photos of herself holding it on Instagram. 

San Mateo County is celebrating its history with a poster contest called "Life In The Aughts." The County's Historical Association invites residents of all ages to submit artwork reflecting life in 21st century San Mateo County. Submissions are due April 10—more about the contest here

There are still significant lane closures on Highway 84 after last week's storm. Residents are advised to avoid the road.

Three small earthquakes rattled Pacifica yesterday.
