Good morning, Redwood City!
The city council meets tonight, virtually and at city hall.
Here are some items on the city council's consent agenda:
- $167,537 for the purchase of bike lane sweepers, with funds set aside from the "People's Budget."
- $430,490 for the purchase of two 2023 John Deere 320P Backhoe Loaders
- Parcel agreements for the 5-story Redwood Shores office development
The city council will discuss capital improvement projects and how to fund them. Here are some examples of recommended projects that need funding. This is the only item on the agenda, aside from "matters of council interest," and will likely take up a huge chunk of the night.
The meeting starts at 6 p.m.
In other news, Redwood City police are searching for the vehicle involved in the fatal hit-and-run of a cyclist on Friday night. The cyclist was confirmed dead after they arrived at Stanford Hospital, a police spokesperson told me on Sunday. If you know anything about Friday's hit-and-run, please contact the police at 650-780-7100.
