One man was found dead in an embankment off of northbound Interstate 280 near Sand Hill road on July 25 following a traffic collision.

The man, identified as 35-year-old San Francisco resident Daniel Salcido by the San Mateo County Coroner's Office, was traveling by himself on I-280 when his white sedan veered off the road down an embankment near Sand Hill Road and collided with trees at 7:50 p.m. on July 24, according to the California Highway Patrol (CHP). The CHP communications center was informed of the collision on July 25 at 7:20 a.m., and when officers responded, they found Salcido, who was already dead.

According to the CHP, there was a report about a vehicle the night before but Redwood City CHP units and the fire department were unable to locate the vehicle. The cause of the collision is unknown, and the cause of death was not released by the coroner's office.
