Each week, Embarcadero Media takes a look at home sales activity along the Midpeninsula in the communities of Atherton, East Palo Alto, Los Altos, Los Altos Hills, Menlo Park, Mountain View, Palo Alto, Portola Valley and Woodside. Home sales are provided by California Resource, a real estate information company that obtains the information from counties’ recorder’s offices. Information is recorded from deeds after the close of escrow and published within four to eight weeks. Here’s a look at home sales activity between Sept. 7-25 that was made public the week of Oct.19.

Of interest this week … A 41-acre vineyard property in Portola Valley owned by the Fogarty Family Trust sold for $11.04 million in September. The trust is associated with the late Thomas J. Fogarty, a doctor and longtime Portola Valley resident who founded Thomas Fogarty Winery. The property features a 14,500-square-foot, three-level stone Italian villa with a theater, wine cellar and tasting room, and a spa with steam room and sauna. Outside, the grounds include a swimming pool, pool house with a full kitchen and bath, and tennis court, along with terraces overlooking San Francisco Bay.

In Palo Alto’s Community Center neighborhood, two side-by-side properties sold together for $11 million. The listing marketed the properties as a private family compound or multigenerational estate. The compound includes a 1930s Spanish-Mediterranean home with four bedrooms and three bathrooms, a pool house with a kitchen and entertainment room, and a second residence dating to 1924 with three bedrooms and two bathrooms.
