Police in Redwood City are trying to identify a suspect in a fatal pedestrian hit-and-run this weekend, the department said Tuesday.

On Sunday at about 9:45 p.m., a 72-year-old woman was near the intersection of Middlefield Road and Beech Street when she was struck by a vehicle. Officers arrived and she was taken to the hospital, where she succumbed to her injuries and died.

The driver of the vehicle involved in the collision fled the scene. The vehicle was described as a white truck, according to police.
