The San Mateo County Board of Supervisors is meeting Tuesday morning to decide whether to remove Sheriff Christina Corpus from her elected position. This morning, she took the podium to defend herself.

“Serve justice without fear or favor. I have sacrificed my peace, my marriage, and precious time with my children and family because I believe in justice,” Corpus said. “I was offered the chance to walk away quietly, take the payout and disappear.

“Leadership isn’t about convenience, it’s about conviction,” she added.
