Mom-osas, floral arrangements and brunch: These Peninsula restaurants are going all out for Mother’s Day

Mother’s Day is Sunday, so if you’re planning to eat out and haven’t made a reservation yet, the clock is ticking! To help you with any last-minute bookings, I’ve compiled a list of 10 restaurants that still have reservations available (at the time of publication) for Mother’s Day celebrations.
In other news, there are a few recent developments with Mountain View’s restaurant scene. The former owner of Farmhouse Thai in Menlo Park is debuting a brand new concept, and a longtime Mexican restaurant has rebranded and switched to Italian cuisine.
And speaking of Italian, this week I tried a restaurant that transported me to Italy. More on that in What I’m Eating.
Stay tasty,
Adrienne

Lasagna at Capri Lasagneria

If you want to feel like you’re on an Italian vacation without actually going to Italy, I’d suggest going out for lunch or dinner at Capri Lasagneria.
The charming and cozy restaurant has been in downtown Burlingame since 2024 and comes from the owners of nearby Mykonos Meze. An outdoor host stand is covered in hyperrealistic lemon and lime slices, with a cheerful yellow street sign pointing inside reading “Lasagna Blvd.” Step through the door and find scenes of Italy projected on the wall.
The menu is succinct: six types of lasagna, a build-your-own pasta option and a selection of starters. I opted for the Italian sausage lasagna with mushrooms, Calabrian chili, San Marzano tomato sauce and Grana Padano ($24). It arrived hot in a personal-sized skillet, and notably, the portion was massive (I could only eat about half before I was stuffed.) While there are no vegan lasagnas on the menu, a vegetarian option made with Impossible meat bolognese is available ($24).
Capri Lasagneria doesn’t accept reservations and does not have a full liquor license, but a variety of spritzes and a large assortment of wines are available.
