Primrose loves people. Other cats, not so much.
Nine Lives is seeking a home for the social tabby, who has spent more than six months in the Redwood City organization’s care.
Primrose arrived from the Merced SPCA stressed and reactive, caretakers at Nine Lives said. The sight and smell of other cats can upset her, making the shelter a difficult place for her personality to shine.
But when Primrose spent several months in foster care, she quickly adjusted and became what her foster family described as a “puppy in a cat’s body.”
She followed her people around, “talked” when she wanted attention and sat beside the dinner table as though she had pulled up an imaginary chair. She also enjoyed curling up on laps and serving as an unofficial work-from-home assistant, though her foster family recommended locking the keyboard before she sent an unfinished email.
Primrose is social with people and does well with children, caretakers said. Nine Lives recommends that she be the only cat in the home.
She recently returned to the shelter after receiving little adoption interest while in foster care. Nine Lives hopes more visitors will now see her, though the shelter remains stressful for her.
