Redwood City Police encountered a grisly scene early Sunday morning near Seaport Boulevard and are now saying evidence at the scene suggests a domestic incident left one woman dead.
Just after midnight on Dec. 7, the Redwood City Police Department received a report from security personnel regarding a suspicious vehicle in the 1300 block of Seaport Boulevard, according to a release sent on Monday morning. When officers arrived, they located the vehicle occupied by man in the driver’s seat and a female passenger, both unconscious and suffering from apparent gunshot wounds to the head.
Officers rendered medical aid and summoned emergency medical personnel. The female was pronounced dead at the scene. The male was transported to a local hospital for treatment and remains in critical condition.
The release states that a preliminary investigation indicates the parties were married and reportedly experiencing marital difficulties. Evidence at the scene suggests the man shot and killed his wife before attempting to take his own life. A firearm was recovered at the scene. Police did not identify the couple.
This investigation is ongoing. Anyone with additional information is asked to contact the Redwood City Police Department at (650) 780-7100.
