A 38-year-old Redwood City man was arrested Wednesday after police said he entered the Sequoia High School campus without authorization while carrying a metal file.
A school liaison officer contacted the man, Adrian Garciaisaula, shortly before 1 p.m. on Sept. 1. Police said the man became agitated, refused commands and resisted being detained. The officer used a Taser before taking him into custody.
Police said Garciaisaula was booked into the Maguire Correctional Facility on suspicion of being under the influence of a controlled substance, remaining on school property, resisting a peace officer and violating probation.
The San Mateo County District Attorney’s Office filed two charges against Garciaisaula on Thursday: one count of resisting arrest and one count of being under the influence of a controlled substance. Garciaisaula went to court Thursday afternoon and was arraigned under a plea of not guilty.
Bail was set at $100 and the case was put over until Sept. 18 because Garciaisaula has another case on the county’s Proposition 36 Drug Court Calendar.
The investigation is ongoing. Those with information related to the case can contact (650) 780-7100.
