The Peninsula Disc Golf Club will host the 2026 Climate Best Open on Saturday, Aug. 22, at Emerald Hills Golf Course, bringing a sanctioned disc golf tournament back to the venue for the first time since 2023, according to the club.
The one-day, two-round tournament will feature 72 players in professional, amateur, women’s and junior divisions.
The Peninsula Disc Golf Club has operated a year-round league at Emerald Hills since the Redwood City Elks installed a permanent course at its lodge in 2015, said PDGC President and CEO Michael Regula.
“Many local disc golfers have clamored for a tournament to return to Emerald Hills since the last one in 2023,” Regula said. “We are excited to kick off a new chapter of PDGC by bringing players from all over the Bay Area to compete at a beautiful, one-of-a-kind venue.”
Registration opened July 12 through Disc Golf Scene. The club said the event also celebrates its recognition as a nonprofit organization in May.
