The Redwood City Parks and Arts Foundation has named Pamela Estes as its first executive director, marking a new phase for the nonprofit that supports local parks and arts programs.

Estes, a founding board member and longtime chair, helped launch the Foundation in 2012.

“Her deep understanding of the Foundation’s mission and her expertise in organizational development make her the ideal person to lead the Foundation into this exciting new chapter,” said Derek Wolfgram, interim director of Redwood City’s Parks, Recreation, and Community Services.

The Foundation has raised more than $1.75 million for Redwood City parks, helping fund projects like the ParCade pop-up and a new shade structure at Jardin de Niños Park. It also runs events like Chalk Full of Fun, Pub in the Park and the Family Campout.

“We are incredibly excited to welcome Pamela as our first Executive Director,” said incoming board chair Sheila Cepero. “Her vision, insight, and commitment have been instrumental in shaping our success.”

Estes, a former attorney and San Mateo County program coordinator, said she’s ready to build on the Foundation’s momentum.

“I am honored and excited to take on this new role,” she said. “I look forward to working closely with our City partners, Board members, donors, and volunteers to expand our reach and create even more meaningful experiences for the community.”
