Girl Scout Troop 61685 of Burlingame recently donated more than $700 to There With Care Bay Area in Redwood City — funds the girls earned through their annual cookie sales.
Following their troop goal to save some, spend some, and give some, the scouts researched several local nonprofits and selected There With Care for its work supporting families who have children facing serious medical challenges.
During their visit, the scouts met with Director Lorraine Michelle, presented their donation, toured the facility and decorated grocery bags that will be used to deliver food and essential items across the Bay Area.
The troop’s contribution will help provide gas cards, groceries, toys and other necessities to families in crisis. The girls said the visit gave them a deeper understanding of how their cookie program can make a difference.
