The Redwood City School District has unveiled three calendars for preschool and TK-8 students for the upcoming instructional school year, according to an announcement by the district’s superintendent.
The three calendars for the 2022-23 school year were approved last week during the Redwood City School District Board of Trustees meeting and include a 185-day calendar for preschool, a 208-day calendar for preschool and a calendar for all TK-8 students, according to the superintendent’s announcement.
The main differences between the calendars are some key dates, particularly regarding the preschool calendars. Those include holidays, first days of school, last days of school, the length of winter break, the number of professional development days for teachers and the number of holidays.
TK-8 students will begin school on Aug. 17. The first holiday for students is Labor Day on Sept. 5. Students can expect another day off on Indigenous Peoples’ Day Oct. 10. Winter Break is from Dec. 19 – Jan. 2 and Spring Break is from Apr. 10 – Apr. 14.
For more information on other holidays, visit the RCSD website.
The Redwood City School District is currently on a mid-winter school break and students are not currently attending classes.
