Good morning, Redwood City!

My name is Avery Luke, and I'm a new reporter here at the Pulse. For more about me, click here. If you'd like to talk about what's happening in the community or say hello, send me an email.

Let's dive into what's making news in Redwood City this week:

Community members shared concerns about potential gun storefronts popping up in Redwood City at a forum last Thursday night. A proposed ordinance would set a buffer zone of 300 feet between gun storefronts and  “sensitive facilities,” like schools, parks, childcare facilities, youth and community centers, libraries and places of worship in Redwood City.

San Mateo County libraries will begin offering free menstrual products to anyone who needs them to help support the community.

As California rapidly boosts sales of electric cars and trucks over the next decade, people are wondering if there be enough electricity to power them. We break it down here.

A man was arrested in a string of burglaries in Redwood City targeting women in their sleep.

Gordon Moore, co-founder of Intel and a philanthropist who donated billions, dies. Read more about his contributions to the early technology industry and the creation of the world's first microchip.

More news to come.
