Bingo nights have resumed at the American Legion Post 105 in Redwood City, according to a news release by the organization.

These events, held on Tuesdays and Thursdays, are organized by the Santa Clara Vanguard Music and Performing Arts (Vanguard) to support their music programs. In exchange for using the venue, Vanguard will establish a music program in Redwood City.

The Bingo sessions start at 6:30 p.m., with doors opening at 4:45 p.m., and will end around 10:30 pm.

American Legion Post 105 Cmdr. George Smith said that the return of Bingo helps community engagement and supports the arts while helping Vanguard fund its programs. The initiative also benefits Post 105 through increased community outreach and facility maintenance.

The reintroduction of Bingo at Post 105 has been welcomed by residents, fulfilling a longstanding interest in the game’s return to the venue, according to the organization.

The Post 105 Foundation, a 501(c)(3) charitable organization, previously conducted bingo games at the American Legion building until 2017. The organization stopped the activity following the death of two founding members and a third battling cancer.
